The Iwamoto Triplet Hand Lens are fully corrected for spherical and chromatic errors through a three glass lens optical system. The Iwamoto have a chrome plated frame and come with leather case - we stock 20x and 10x versions.
Bausch & Lomb is renown in hand lens manufacturing. Their Triplet Hand Lens incorporate three separate lenses, bonded together to form a compound lens to provide one sharp, very distinct magnified image without distortion; even under 14 and 20 power magnification.
One thing to be aware of is the size of the lens. Against the generic brands, the premium lenses are often smaller. For example, 10x = 16mm, 14x = 12.5mm and 20x = 8mm - this is the lens aperture, not the diameter of the entire unit. Although it comes down to personal preference, we've had customers who didn't realise that the lens sizes were smaller until they acquire them, so we like to advise this in advance.
